The Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is crucial to the financial well being of Serra High School. Like other private schools, Serra's tuition fees do not cover the total cost of educating students and the school relies on yearly donations made to the Annual Fund by parents, alumnae, past parents and friends to offset the difference between tuition and the actual cost of an education.
Money raised through the Annual Fund enables us to provide an outstanding Catholic education for our students and creates an atmosphere that fosters lifelong learning. As well, gifts to the Annual Fund enable us to continue to maintain and sustain the 23-acre campus.
A gift to the Annual Fund, regardless of its size, is important because it shows your commitment to our school and most importantly our students. Scholarships, Endowment, and Other Funds

Scholarship Fund:
Each year, through the scholarship program and the Catholic Education Foundation, Serra High School is able to provide over $350,000 in tuition assistance to students who would otherwise not be able to attend our school.

Tutorial Fund:
This fund helps support our tutorial program. Our Tutorial Program helps students improve their grades and study skills.

Buildings and Grounds Fund:
This fund helps maintain and upgrade our buildings and landscape on our 23-acre campus Junipero Serra High School Endowment Trust Fund An unrestricted endowment fund that was established in 1999 helps perpetuate, support, and uphold the works of Serra High School.

Ways of Giving

Current Gifts:
You may make a gift to Serra High School with cash, securities, life insurance policies given outright, real estate, or other assets. Gifts of appreciated securities can offer particular tax advantages to the donor.

Planned Gifts:
You may create a charitable trust or other option that benefits Serra and offers you financial planning benefits. One of the most common, the charitable remainder trust, allows the organization or person you designate to receive yearly income for a specified period of time, after which the principal of the trust reverts to Serra High School. We can work with you and your advisor to create the instrument that works for you.

Bequest Intention:
You may make a provision for Serra High School in your estate plans, assuring a legacy that lasts beyond your lifetime.

Matching Gift:
You can leverage your own giving if your employer offers a gift-matching program. You will be credited for the total amount and your employer will also receive recognition in donor publications.
